AdSpends for Cursor|MCP server
AdSpends is the Meta ads database Cursor’s Agent reads through the Model Context Protocol: ads, brands and landing pages with estimated EU ad spend. The Agent finds the data and writes the files, you decide what ships. Looking for Claude Code, Windsurf or GitHub Copilot? See every setup guide.

Create a key, add the server, ask. Create an AdSpends API key, paste one entry into your mcp.json, then ask Cursor’s Agent about ads, brands and landing pages. Setup takes under a minute and needs no installs.
Paste this into ~/.cursor/mcp.json to use AdSpends in every project, or into .cursor/mcp.json for one project. Replace the placeholder with your API key. You get the full toolset: ads, brands, landing pages and your saved boards.

Create your API key →Committing .cursor/mcp.json to a shared repo? Use "Bearer ${env:ADSPENDS_API_KEY}" instead of the key itself, and Cursor reads it from your environment. The Cursor CLI uses the same mcp.json files.
AdSpends isn’t in Cursor’s MCP directory yet, so there is no one-click Add to Cursor button. The mcp.json entry above gives you the same tools and credits.

Sign in at app.adspends.com/mcp and create an API key. The free trial works too.
Paste the entry into ~/.cursor/mcp.json, replace the placeholder with your key and save. Cursor connects on its own.
Check that AdSpends is switched on in Cursor’s MCP settings, then ask the Agent in plain English. It picks the tools and pulls the data.
Data is updated daily, and the free trial includes 100 API credits.
No. Cursor has no access to Meta’s Ad Library, and web search finds articles about ads, not the ads themselves. The Meta Ad Library shows ads one brand at a time, with spend only for political ads. AdSpends gives Cursor the ads, the spend estimates and the landing pages behind them.

The AdSpends MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that gives Cursor’s Agent read access to the AdSpends Meta ads database. MCP is the standard way AI tools plug into the apps you use, so the Agent can search ads, brands and landing pages and write the results straight into your project.

Every placement Meta reports reach for.
Ask for one format or compare them.
Classified by AI, so Cursor can ask for one type.
Ask in English, and Cursor still searches ads written in any EU language.
One MCP server, one account, the same credits. Pick the tool you already work in.
The Cursor connection has no separate charge. The free trial includes 100 API credits, and every paid plan includes 2,000 to 30,000 credits per month. Searches cost 1 credit per result, detail lookups 1 to 5 credits, and lookups like markets, niches and usage are free.
See plans & pricing →Cursor authenticates with an AdSpends API key that you can revoke at any time at app.adspends.com/mcp. The server is read-only, so the Agent can’t change your boards or trigger anything. Keep the key out of git with ${env:ADSPENDS_API_KEY} in shared mcp.json files.
The Agent answers without using AdSpends
Check that AdSpends is switched on in Cursor’s MCP settings, or start your prompt with “Use AdSpends to…”.
AdSpends shows an error in the MCP settings
Check that the header reads “Bearer ” followed by your key, with no extra quotes, and that your trial or plan is active.
Cursor says I’m out of credits
Ask the Agent to check your AdSpends usage (free). Credits reset monthly, and credit packs top you up instantly.
The tools don’t show up after editing mcp.json
Make sure the file is valid JSON, then toggle AdSpends off and on in the MCP settings or restart Cursor.
Create an API key at app.adspends.com/mcp, then add a server called adspends to ~/.cursor/mcp.json with the URL https://app.adspends.com/api/mcp and an Authorization header of “Bearer <YOUR_API_KEY>”. Save the file, check that AdSpends is switched on in Cursor’s MCP settings, and ask the Agent.
Cursor’s Agent can search 9.2M Meta ads, 849k brands and 739k landing pages, rank them by estimated ad spend, pull brand overviews with top ads and landing pages, and read your saved boards and tracked brands. It turns the results into markdown briefs, CSV files, reports and landing page code inside your project.
No. Cursor has no access to the Meta Ad Library, and web search finds articles about ads rather than the ads themselves. With the AdSpends MCP server, the Agent searches Facebook and Instagram ads directly, with estimated ad spend, video transcripts and the landing pages each ad sends traffic to.
Use ~/.cursor/mcp.json to have AdSpends in every project. Use .cursor/mcp.json inside a project to share the setup with your team; in that case write the header as “Bearer ${env:ADSPENDS_API_KEY}” so each person uses their own key and nothing secret ends up in git.
Yes. The Cursor CLI reads the same mcp.json files as the editor, so once AdSpends is set up you can use it from the terminal too, for example in scripts that write a weekly competitor report.
Not yet, so there is no one-click install. The mcp.json entry works today with the same account, data and credits.
AdSpends covers Meta ads delivered in the EU, because the reach data comes from Meta’s EU transparency reporting. Coverage is deepest in Germany and the DACH region. Brands are grouped into markets such as Health & Supplements, Beauty & Skincare, Fashion, Home & Garden and Pet Supplies, and ads can be filtered by language, platform and format.
From the Meta Ad Library. AdSpends collects Facebook and Instagram ads delivered in the EU every day, together with the reach Meta publishes under the Digital Services Act, and links them to brands and landing pages.
Ad spend is an estimate in EUR, calculated from the EU reach that Meta publishes at a €30 CPM. It is built for comparing ads, brands and landing pages with each other, not as an exact invoice.
There is no separate charge for the Cursor connection. Every AdSpends plan includes 2,000 to 30,000 API credits per month, and the free trial includes 100.
Yes. The server is read-only, your API key can be revoked at any time at app.adspends.com/mcp, and your saved boards are only visible to your own account.
